Puppies and dogs who are nursing or pregnant may require 2 – 3 times the Adult amounts. Serving size can be reduced for less active and older dogs. Actual amount of food your dog requires depends on activity, age, environment and breed. Fresh water should be available at all times. For your pet’s well being, see your veterinarian regularly.
This formula is now labeled “For Intermittent Feeding Only”. Salmon is very high in vitamin D. There are about 7,000 units of vitamin D in a single can of salmon entree. According to AFFCO, a medium size dog should not have more than 3,000 units of vitamin D per day. So, you should not feed more than a third of a can of salmon entree per day if you have a medium size dog. We would advice you to use the food as a topper only so the dog doesn’t get too much vitamin D.
